What fascinates me most about animal photography is how much is left to chance. Animals are unpredictable and sometimes they never show up at all. That requires patience and constant attention, always ready for the moment that may or may not come.
You also have to accept the conditions as they are. The light, the weather, the surroundings, none of it is in your control. That's exactly what makes it interesting, learning to make the most of whatever situation you're in, even when nothing goes according to plan.
